A year drawing to a close…

Not actually 2017 of course – we still have 5 months to go…

But our academic year is closing with the traditional set of exams; our second full year of trading as a school. We are so proud of our students [they have 4 years left!] and of ourselves [we have done so much writing and researching and organising]. Can I just say that we may have moaned a bit when we were doing our degree about the haphazard nature of some of the organisation of seminars etc etc. Well, here and now I apologise. Susan and I have just spent a whole day fiddling with bits of paper and dates to accommodate 3 year levels of students with up to 6 modules each year to fit in with all the staff members’ personal time tables. Exhausting and frustrating: I often found I had Susan down for teaching two completely different subjects at the same time to different years. But hey, the provisional time table is ready.

Susan is now settled in her new home, with an internet connection coming very shortly, which means she can be contacted properly again. We are both excited at the move out of somebody else’s space [however nice it was] and to have gained complete autonomy. We are all now writing the texts for next academic year – it’s going to be a blinder! With more staff on board our community is growing and discussions over the dinner table are diverse and interesting.

I would post a pic of the students sitting their exam this morning, but that would be a tad intrusive. So here is the view they can gaze at to help calm themselves down…

Nothing like a bit of calm…
