Could he try to grow Buchu from seed in the heated glass houses at Cannington Walled Gardens?

It appeared he would give it a go.

I had about 10 small seeds in a tiny metal tin, and as I slid them across the table in the cafe, it was obvious he had done his research. We talked about pests and diseases, local environment and harvesting before we went on to chat about aromatic plants in general. And you know what – because he is French he knew what I was talking about. A lot of French people have a higher exposure to herbal teas and aromatic waters, and Aymeric has even got a history in foraging. He is our newest Best Friend!

He has identified the correct area of the heated areas in which to plant our little bushes if they ‘take’; they are not tropical so they don’t need the humid areas, just warmth. Here he is in the selected area for our Buchu – I feel like an expectant parent checking out delivery suites…

I was also introduced to some of the medicinal plants they had at the gardens with an invitation to bring the students round. I hope we see more of you, Aymeric.
