This weekend our first year students are gathering for seminars on Anatomy & Physiology on Saturday, and Herbal Therapeutics on Sunday. They will be fed delicious meals again by Angie and relax in front of a roaring log fire
when not at their desks.
The [expensive] skeleton that we ordered from Germany with some of the grant money from the NIMH Education Fund will not arrive till Monday. We had hoped the students could start playing with it, but they will have to wait.
These first years will go through their training at New Place, but the next intake of students in September will have most of their seminars in Bridgwater, only coming to New Place for Easter School and exam week. This is because it is murder getting to Porlock by public transport and people have been known to get stranded…

So, if you are thinking of training to be a professional, insured, accredited Medical Herbalist, transport problems should now be the least of your concerns. Bridgwater is just north of Taunton and south of Bristol. It is on the A38; the second longest road in the UK stretching from Bodmin in Cornwall to Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. The M5 junctions 23 and 24 are located conveniently at the top and bottom of the town, so if you come from the North or South you can drive straight in….
