On the 21-22 November we had our second weekend seminar and we covered the first of the Pharmacy and Materia Medica sessions for the students. We had an invigorating trip out to do some practical work at the allotment, digging up Inula and Levisticum roots, taking them back to New Place to clean and chop ready to be made into tinctures. The weather was dry and sunny, but we were whipped with an icy wind on the walk to the plot. After harvesting the roots we were glad to get back to the school room which had a roaring fire, and hot drinks. We are fortunate to be able to study in such elegant rooms, set within very beautiful surroundings – we aim to use Exmoor as much as possible when the spring comes.
